Prindlepalooza 2018 A Success!

On Saturday, August 25, the Prindle Institute for Ethics hosted its annual Prindlepalooza event. This was the seventh installment of the event and with over 560 attendees, it was by far the best-attended Prindlepalooza.

Prindlepalooza gives students an opportunity to learn more about how they can get involved with the Prindle Institute for Ethics. The event is primarily geared towards first-year students, but it also gives upperclassmen the opportunity to engage with Prindle. It allows DePauw students, faculty, and community members to interact with the facility, learn more about the study of ethics and how they can participate in the institute’s internship programs, all while enjoying a welcoming atmosphere with live music and good food, like tacos, sandwiches, or popsicles.

The ultimate goal is of Prindlepalooza is to give students more exposure to the Prindle Institute, and this year’s event succeeded in doing so. The total attendance, 562 people, was almost twenty times larger than that of the inaugural event and a significant increase from last year’s attendance. While the event is geared towards first-year students, many upperclassmen return year after year. One of the most impressive things about this year’s event was the 87 seniors that attended, some of whom even consider this to be one of their favorite DePauw-sponsored events. Becca Sellers ‘19 said,  “I look forward to Prindlepalooza every year; it’s one of my favorite events at DePauw. You just can’t beat the free food, the live music, and bumping into all your friends that you haven’t seen since last school year.” According to Olivia Rosemann ‘19, “Prindlepalooza is honestly my favorite event of the year.”

Regardless of whether you’re a first-year, an upperclassmen, or a faculty member, it’s clear that Prindlepalooza is an event that members of the DePauw community look forward to every year and this year’s event was no exception.
