New Faces at the Prindle Institute
The Prindle Institute for Ethics is delighted to announce two new additions to our team this Spring/Summer.
Joining our team this Spring, we’re excited to welcome Brian Cox as Accounts and Events Manager. Brian will manage all of the Prindle Institute’s physical and financial assets in coordination with the leadership team, in addition to supporting events sponsored and hosted by the Institute—both on our campus in the DePauw Nature Park and the main DePauw Campus. With his expertise in event planning, Brian ensures smooth operations and seamless coordination across all the Institute’s programs and initiatives.
Effective June 3, Alex Richardson will join the Prindle Institute as Associate Director for Content Strategy and Engagement. Alex will manage our communications and content libraries, as well as directing the Prindle Institute’s national engagement initiatives. He will also begin teaching courses in philosophy at DePauw this Fall.
Alex was previously Director of the award-winning National High School Ethics Bowl program (a key partner of the Institute’s), based at the Parr Center for Ethics at UNC Chapel Hill. He also serves on Boards of Directors of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics and Ethics Bowl Canada, as well as on the American Philosophical Association’s Committee on Pre-College Philosophy. Alex has taught philosophy at Elon University (2021-2024) and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2013-2019), where he completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy (2021). Alex’s philosophical interests are varied, but as of late, he is thinking and working on issues in democratic civic education and the development of moral and intellectual virtues among adolescents.
Please help us extend a warm welcome to Brian and Alex as we gear up for another terrific academic year at the Prindle Institute!
