Placement in our regional competition affords two additional opportunities:

1) The winning team of the regional is eligible to compete in the National High School Ethics Bowl competition at University of North Carolina April 5-7, 2019. If our bowl is considered “large” by NHSEB standards, the winning team will automatically advance to the national competition. Otherwise the winner will compete in a virtual playoff with the winner of another small regional bowl. We will know if we are considered a large or small bowl soon after registration closes in December. Prindle awards the winning school a $1,500 stipend to offset travel costs.

2) First- through fourth-place finishers are eligible to compete in the Prindle Institute’s 2nd Annual national Summer High School Ethics Bowl Invitational in June 2019. In the summer of 2018 we hosted 16 teams from across the country for a two-day competition. We’ve heard from many of the schools since that they are hoping to again finish strong in their regional so that they can return for the summer 2019 event.
