We're better together.
Our work wouldn’t be possible without our trusted partners. Together, we collaborate on projects that range from co-sponsored events to facilitating important research on ethics in the classroom. Whether it’s working closely with local educators or with renowned national programs, we value the work we are able to accomplish through a shared commitment to ethics education, reflection, and dialogue.
Association for Practical and Professional Ethics
Since 2017, in order to better engage the nation on the critical issues of our time, the Prindle Institute for Ethics has been the institutional home and headquarters of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE). Founded in 1991 and focused on the practical application of ethics in classrooms, workplaces, and local communities, APPE now is the largest professional ethics organization in the world. The Association is also the home of the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl, as well as the Research Integrity Scholars and Educators (RISE) Consortium, and regularly serves as an international convener of Ethics Centers and Institutes.
National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)
A new grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) in 2024-2025 will help DePauw University articulate an innovative vision for a business and leadership education that is anchored in the liberal arts and humanities. The planning grant, led by Director Jeffrey Dunn, supports an interdisciplinary team of faculty and students in establishing curricular structures that will integrate humanistic teaching and scholarship with business and leadership education at DePauw. Learn more about the program, “Business Meets Humanities: A Liberal Arts Curriculum,” here.
Parr Center for Ethics (UNC, Chapel Hill)
The Prindle Institute enjoys a strong partnership with the University of North Carolina’s Parr Center for Ethics as the home and headquarters of the National High School Ethics Bowl (NHSEB). The Prindle Institute serves as both a Regional and Divisional host for the NHSEB, holds an ex officio seat on NHSEB’s Advisory Board, and regularly contributes to Case Sets for NHSEB’s competitive events. In the Fall of 2024, the Prindle Institute and the Parr Center will expand this partnership to include innovative new collaborations on the project of empirically assessing ethics education programs across the lifespan.
